The 2014 Range Rover is the very latest version and it comes with a brand new aluminium monocoque that was said to have cost Land Rover an arm and a leg to develop. The car is much bigger and lighter than the older version and it is also more efficient and a great deal better to drive.
Underneath the styling which looks much the same as the older version, it is totally new and comes with plenty of aluminium in the design, which seems to be the in-thing at the moment. Steering is very fluid and the body control is better thanks to the standard air suspension. The driving is relaxed and the car is able to deal with anything thrown its way with the minimum of fuss.
If you leave the Terrain Response II off road software in automatic mode you can go just about anywhere and not have to give even the most treacherous of surfaces much thought. Land Rover seem to have taken into account the fact that Range Rovers are now the choice for carrying around the rich and famous and they came up with a design that suits it.
The 2014 Range Rover comes with superb specifications and it offers big door openings and more legroom and comes packed with a lot of multimedia options and this includes the 28 speaker Meridian stereo. All of the materials are top range and the fit and finish is one of luxury. There are less buttons in the cabin and this gives the cabin a feel of being clean and stylish. You can even choose an Executive class seating which offers two large plush chairs in the back of the car.
How reliable the 2014 Range Rover is going to be only time will tell, however Land Rover have promised some improvements. There is the 3.0 TDV6 with a price tag of around £72k and this offers 255bhp along with 37.7mpg, the TDV8 with 335bhp and 516lb-ft of torque and the 500bhp supercharged V8 petrol engine which comes in just under £100k.
