One of the top pickup trucks on the market has always been the Toyoto Hilux. It is the number one selling pickup in Australia and pretty sure that Toyota have every intention for that to stay that way.
Spy shots of the forthcoming Toyota Hilux were used to help create this new image. The face of the Hilux is covered by a grille which resembles the offspring of a Corolla and a Highlander. Under the grille is a bigger trapezoidal lower-intake. You can also see that the car is much wider that the models we have seen before.
We can expect that a pickup truck such as this one will most likely run on a 2.5 and 3.0 liter Diesel four with an optional 4.0 liter V6 engine. It will probably also come with either a 5 speed manual transmission or a 6 speed automatic transmission with 2wd and 4wd configuration.
As far as competition is concerned, the automaker most likely has no reason for concern about rivals in China seeing as local pickup trucks are nowhere near the standards of the Hilux.
When it comes to international rivals, these will include the Mitsubishi Triton, Mazda BT50, Volkswagen Amarok, Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger and Nissan Navara.
